>> WELCOME FROM OUR HEAD

Sue-Ellen Lamb

As the Head of Race Leys Junior School, a proud member of the Griffin Schools Trust, it is an absolute honour and pleasure to welcome you to our school website.

Race Leys Junior School was one of the first schools to join the Griffin Schools Trust and Race Leys is proud to be a vibrant and exciting school, where our Griffins are given wonderful opportunities to learn, develop and shine. Race Leys is built on the three Pillars of the Griffin Schools Trust which are: Proud Traditions, Wide Horizons and High Achievement.

Our commitment to providing children with a rich and engaging educational experience has shaped our curriculum. We believe we are an exceptional school with caring, dedicated staff who put our Griffins at the heart of every decision made. We pride ourselves on ensuring that each child is given the opportunity to achieve 100% across all areas of their learning.

The culture and climate of our school is unique, and we believe it is the key to our successes: our Griffins deserve nothing but the best and are welcomed into a truly unique environment where this very much aids their curiosity, awe and wonder.

As proud members of the Griffin Schools Trust, a family of schools and a supportive network of educational expertise, we work very closely not only with other schools locally but also our partner schools within the Trust in London, Medway and the West Midlands. This includes a range of exciting activities such as our annual Griffin Arts Festival, a well-established beacon of excellence for the arts, the Science Symposium and the Griffin Sports Festival. Our school is a bright and well-resourced learning environment and, led by our Junior Leadership Team, our pupils take pride in shaping and developing our community and school further.

We are also proud of the range of extra-curricular provision in our school. Every child is encouraged to participate in a club. The school provides a breakfast club and after-school clubs where pupils can try their hand at archery, basketball, cooking, hula hooping, reading club and choir to name but a few! We are really excited to launch our new Griffin University; the school will be transformed on a Friday afternoon into individual seminars led by our staff for the children, this will further enhance their Wide Horizons by allowing them to develop their interests and skills in areas like Mediterranean cuisine, yoga and business management.

We would love to welcome you for a visit and to share with you the magic that is Race Leys. I look forward to meeting you.

“Race Leys is a school where students are able to discover who they are by taking part in wide ranging, engaging experiences both inside and beyond the classroom.”
