>> OUR CULTURE OF SAFEGUARDING
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. Every day. Every child.
The safety and well-being of our pupils are our absolute priorities. We pride ourselves on a culture of high vigilance, where all staff are trained to identify the signs of risk and are empowered to act. We work closely with parents, the Local Authority, and community partners to ensure our children grow up in a safe, nurturing environment.

Working with Warwickshire Police to Support Our Students
We work closely with the Police and have access to the support of a Designated Officer for Children and Young People. These officers are part of the Community Policing Team and are dedicated to working with young people within our borough.
Their role focuses primarily on supporting the safety and wellbeing of young people outside of school, during their journey to school, at weekends, and school holidays. Rather than being based on-site, their work extends into the wider community, ensuring students are supported and safeguarded in all areas of their lives.
Keeping Children Safe Online
In an increasingly digital world, we believe that education is the strongest filter we can provide for our children. Our goal is to empower every pupil to be a confident, responsible, and resilient digital citizen.
We use assemblies, PSHE, IT lessons and the wider curriculum to deliver comprehensive guidance and advice to our students about how to keep themselves safe online. We ensure they understand how to navigate the internet with both curiosity and caution. From identifying fake news to understanding the importance of privacy and kindness in gaming, our curriculum is designed to support pupils now and in their future.

Family Support and Wellbeing
We recognise that for a child to be ready to learn, they must first feel safe, healthy, and happy. We are committed to working in partnership with our families to provide support at the right time to prevent small concerns from becoming larger challenges.
Domestic Violence
We are proud to be an Operation Encompass school. This is a police and education early information-sharing partnership which ensures that our school is informed by the police, prior to the start of the next school day, if a child has been involved in or exposed to a domestic abuse incident.
This early warning allows us to provide immediate support to the child, whether that is a quiet word, breakfast in the canteen, or simply a little extra time and understanding from their teacher.
Prevent Duty
As part of our wider safeguarding responsibilities, we have a statutory duty to protect our children from the risk of radicalisation and extremist ideologies.
We deliver this through a broad and balanced curriculum that promotes Fundamental British Values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect.
We aim to build our pupils’ resilience to radicalisation by providing a safe space for them to debate and challenge ideas.
If you have a specific concern regarding radicalisation or extremist behavior, you can contact our Schools Safeguarding team or the Prevent Officer at Warwickshire County Council, Geoff Thomas, directly at geoffthomas@warwickshire.gov.uk. Alternatively, you can call the ACT Early Support Line on 0800 011 3764, in confidence, to share your concerns with our specially trained officers, available 24 hours every day.
Mental Health & Wellbeing
Mental health is just as important as physical health. We want our students to leave us with the emotional vocabulary to express how they feel and the resilience to handle life’s ups and downs.

- Calm zones and reflection spaces available to all.
- Access to a creative therapist, Sycamore Counselling services and our Senior Mental Health Lead.
