When learning modern foreign languages at Race Leys Junior School, our intention is for all Griffins to celebrate the culture, acquire knowledge and language through the learning of Spanish.

We implement this by encouraging all children to investigate the diversity of the different nations, with the importance of recognising that Spanish is the second spoken language in the world. As a school we celebrate this through spoken and written language, use of a variety of authentic resources, including outside visitors and whole school themed afternoons. Progression is showed across year groups through targeted development at specific levels of learning.

The impact of our success in the development of MFL at Race Leys is that we have been awarded the Intermediate International Schools award. This achievement has enabled us to continue with our own dynamic identity of Spanish with next steps to further enhance our learning further.
