>> THE SCHOOL DAY

Children should line up by their class teacher at 8.45am who will accompany them through to the classroom. If families have any questions or comments that they would like to share, these can be passed to the teaching assistant on the door. Doors will close at 8.55am and any children arriving after this time should sign in at reception. School closes at 3.15pm and children are released from their year group doors.

A typical week at Race Leys is 32 hours and 55 minutes.

Assemblies

Singing assemblies are held on Wednesday mornings that are led by specialist Music teachers. Children learn songs with a moral message and have opportunities to rehearse songs for our Proud Traditions such as The Big Sing, Winter Recital and Spring Recital.

Our celebration assemblies take place in our Great Hall on Friday mornings. Awards are chosen by staff members to reward children for showing their values around school. Additionally children are recognised for showing our Legendary Learner values in areas such as being a Persevering Parks or Engaging Einstein. Children are placed into four houses: Oz, Hogwarts, Neverland and Scrumdiddlyumptious and receive house points for good behaviour, displaying the Race Leys values and going above and beyond in their learning, around the school and outside of school. The house points are then collected and collated by our House Captains on a weekly basis and then shared during our Celebration assemblies.
